Flagstaff Victim Services

The Victim Services Unit is a police-based unit that works in accordance with the Victims of Crime Act principles. The Unit uses volunteers to provide services to Flagstaff County and the Village of Amisk.

The main functions of this Unit are to provide support and assistance to help victims deal with the immediate impacts of crime as well as to advocate on their behalf.

Victim Services can provide referrals to various counselling agencies, shelters, and other community resources.

Victim Services can provide information on the following:
-Trauma/crisis education
-The criminal justice system and the opportunities for participation
available victim’s assistance programs
-The status of investigation
-Court preparation programs
-Various protection programs

Funding is received through a grant from the Victims of Crime Fund(VOCF) through the Government of Alberta, as well as through donations and community fundraisers.
