Composition and purpose of the F.I.R.S.T. Team:

The F.I.R.S.T. Family Violence Follow-up Team consists of:

A specially trained RCMP officer
(Several qualified officers are available from the Killam/Forestburg RCMP Detachment)

and

A Flagstaff Family & Community Services Counsellor

The F.I.R.S.T. Family Violence Follow-up Team does follow-up visits to families experiencing family violence.

The purpose of the visit is to:
Help family members understand the dynamics and impact of family violence
Help the family assess risk and prepare a safety plan;
and
Help link the family to other sources of help in the community
